Just a handful of days left to reach our goal!

A Still from our Promo Video for 'The Man Who Loved His Cat' to be seen at
http://www.indiegogo.com/manwholovedhiscat
As we simultaneously make plans and get all our ducks in a row (The project had been cast, we have almost all of our crew members, locations are almost locked in, a shot list is being worked out, we now have our SAG-AFTRA signatory status, and other incidentals are being figured out) we have had a 40-day fundraising campaign going to make this film happen...

We now have just a handful of DAYS LEFT to reach our goal!

We are SO THANKFUL to those 65+ supporters so far who have pushed us past the 2/3 raised mark!! We're very fortunate to have a good number of people behind the project... and as we rehearse it, we're finding more and more ways to get a great message across... while bringing the fun and funny!

If you haven't contributed yet, please take a look at the fun promo video, and support if you can! $10, $25, $50, $100, etc... everything helps... AND you get rewards for the contribution too, plus a great feeling... who doesn't like to feel good? Someone out there... but not you! :)

We're UBER excited to announce the DP (Director of Photography) of our film, Eric Bader!
He's got a kick-ass reel on his website at: http://www.ericbaderfilm.com/

And, he has worked as DP with David Garry on 'Bully', a spec commercial for 'King Kong: The Ride' that won a prize in a contest (you can view that here), and a hilarious Pepto Bismol spec commercial with Dagney Kerr and Dagney Kerr about a meeting gone wrong
(due to eating a bad burrito)
set to 80's hit 'Meetin' in the Ladies Room'. You can check that out here
Happy to have him on board!

A Promo Video was shot for the film!

On September 1st, a promo video shoot took place for 'The Man Who Loved His Cat'... a near 12 hours was spent getting many shots (for a 2-3 minute clip) to talk about the purpose of doing the film, and to let people know a little bit about what to expect regarding it. There were laughs abound with crazy cat antics, finding unexpected moments throughout the day that weren't on the script page, and general revelry that can be found in creative environments...

Superstars of the day are Rachel Dunn, Chris Simmons, Michael Messick, Kate Lynne Bundy, Lee Stickler, and I (David Garry) was also excited to be directed (for the first time) by my good friend Jay J. Levy.

Griffin the (my) cat was on-set all day and was PURRty annoyed with having new surroundings to deal with +  the additional responsibility of working on camera. He's happy to know that for the film itself, the 'Cat' will be played by Cinderella, an actor cat!

Hopefully, even more peeps will want to follow along on our journey through the process of making this film. There's more pics and regular updates on our Facebook page HERE to 'LIKE' if you haven't just yet!

In other current Mews, friend Christine Taylor did an awesome marketing image (to the right) for the film, signatory papers will be on their way from SAG-AFTRA soon, and Tom Bottelsen (who will be acting in the film) will also be doing the music for the film (with theme song)!

Stay tuned for the promo video coming just DAYS away with more info to inspire!

Purrs,

David Garry

So excited to have the project cast already, 2 1/2 months before the shooting of it! There's:

Myself (David Garry): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0308552/

Rachel Winfree: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0934910/

Michael Dempsey: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0218749/

Dagney Kerr: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0449669/

Tom Bottelsen: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3792571/

And... an Actor Cat who happens to be  the grandchild of Mr. Bigglesworth!

My cat Griffin is getting a little long in the tooth at year 14... I considered having him in it to play the cat (and to have awesome footage of him)... but was concerned about him doing everything the cat needed to do, having never been trained. Enter a cat with trainer... I feel a bit more relieved to have an actor cat! :)

And I'm excited to have my friend and writer/director/producer Jay J. Levy direct it! He's gotten some national/international festival attention for his short film 'Dirty Magazines' in the past coupla years: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFArc_AvR-s  (trailer) and launched his website http://www.jayjlevy.com/

Also, cool that the writer of the script (Noam Rabinovitch) is found from a posting I had done looking for script submissions...

This is my first time producing a film... I've produced a stage show before of one-act plays... which was quite an undertaking itself with 18 actors, 9 writers and 7 directors... Once I get excited about something, it's 1 out of every 3 thoughts in my head...that was how it was with the stage show before... and now the excitement is building for 'The Man Who Loved His Cat'... pulling focus... and loving having a project to work on!
